How healthy is this weight loss for a female? (read details please)

So I am a bit worried about my girlfriend she wanted to lose weight and went on the master cleanse (lemonade diet) for a few days and that scared the shit out of me so I paid for her to go to Jenny Craig, she is eating 1500 calories a day but spends at least an hour running on the treadmill plus another 30mins doing weights every day. This past week she lost 6lbs in one week! The Jenny Craig people seemed happy for her but that seems excessive to me for a week of weight loss. Is this an okay way for her to lose weight? I’m very worried about her health.

It is quite usual to have a large weight loss in the first weeks of dieting. This is because much of the loss is fluid. On 1500 a day your wife should start to have a slow steady weight loss of approx 2lb per week. With the increased exercise this maybe a bit more…but a good thing for her general health.!500 cals a day is quite reasonable and a healthy way to lose weight

I think this is excessive. Normal wieght loss should be no more then 2 lbs a week. I recommend a slowing down or the person will burn out

The best thing you can do is get her BMR and subtract that by -500. There only needs to be a -500 caloire defect in her diet to lose weight.

Weight is a situations that can be different for everyone. One person can have a lot of weight but be really fit. Another person can weigh less and be overweight. You needed to add some more info for an accurate assessment.

its dumb to do weights daily…rest a day weekly…lift weights on 3 alternate days and do yoga or pilates on other days…6 lbs a week lost is definitely muscle!!fad diets are useless dude…
