What are some good weight loss cookbooks?

Posted by: admin | Comments (4)

What are some good weight loss cook books. I’m going to cook healthier meals for my hubby and want a cook book geared specifically towards weight loss. I’ve seen a few online but I want a cook book with tasty food, but also food that you don’t have to be a master chef to cook.

If you looking for a good book filled with healthy good food you should check out "The SunFood Diet System" by David Wolfe. It’s a little different but you may like it.

i’m going to be starting the master cleanse next monday, and i was looking for some supplements to help lose weight a bit faster, along with exercise. the cleanse is just to jump start my weight loss, to help control cravings, and to help clear up my skin. anyways, i’ve heard about apple cider vinegar and green tea, but are there any others? thanks

Some people need extra digestive enzymes and that often helps with weight loss. You wouldn’t have to take them forever, just long enough until your liver gets the stress off of it and you lost weight and eating fresh and raw fruits and vegetables help build them up in the body.

CLA is good, I read a study last week that says it helps to retain muscle while dieting instead of burning it and you will burn more body fat in place of muscle. Since muscle burns more calories per pound, it is very helpful. Most commercially farmed meats don’t have much CLA (grass fed, game meats, buffalo and free-range beef does though) as meat we ate several decades ago.

OK, so I have read all of the answers saying how it is not "good" to try and lose weight through a fad diet, but guess what.. I don’t care. I have put on a ton of weight while my husband deployed to Iraq and I AM going to try a fad diet to jumpstart my weightloss.

What have YOU tried that worked? Master Cleanse? Tuna Diet? Cabbage soup diet?

I know how you feel. I’ve tried a lot of things. but this is what works for me (i lost 4 pounds in a week and i didn’t starve myself):
- drink lots of water, keeps you fuller.
- to lower your appetite, add in a lot of incidental exercise. during that week i was walking around a lot to get to places. not only was i burning calories and making my metabolism work, i was also distracting myself from food.
- eat light dinners, but remember to eat in small portions. e.g. you MUST eat breakfast (something healthy klike cereal) breakfast kickstarts your metablism, then about 2 hours later, say about 10am, have a light healthy meal that can be consumed in about 3 or 4 bites (like a very small portion of fried rice, then at 12am if ur hungry, eat the same amount, then 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, etc. split your dinner up during those times.

thing is, i started doing that for about 3 days, after 3 days my weight started to drop suddenly and the weird thing was, i had begun to eat a little more, yet the weight just continued to drop.

im still eating extremely healthy and pretty much the same amount i used ot before weight loss, yet im loosing the weight!

good luck!

I am a 20yr female, 5' 10" and weight 337 pounds.

I am a collage student that doesn't have very much time and have access to a gym so anything I do has to be a home.

I have always been active (not one of those people that sit around all day) doing chorses on our farm, walking, karate, dance etc.

I went to the YWCA for over two years daily and worked like crazy (ski machines and weight lifted) but didn't lose anything.

I eat very plain, lots of soups, homemade bread in the winter and sandwiches, pasta and salads in the summer. I eat a lot of mexican food year round (pressure my own beans so they aren't from the can).

I am a vegitarian , I drink lots of water and drink 1 can of diet soda (with spendla) a day. No hi-frutose or hydronated oil

I never eat out (had pizza once last year).

I have a gazelle sprint master a bike, and the road (to walk).

What can I do to lose weight? My big problem areas are my abs, stomuch and hips.

If you have info please share.

you seem to eat really healthy! But you may be lacking physical excercise. Jog for about 30 mins a day. Flex your muscles while doing daily c hores, even while sitting raise your legs 10 - 20 times, wave hands, learn some basic yoga, raise your legs while lying on the floor etc. Just making your ever move more active will slowly help you lose weight. It is not about dieting, but it is about living healthy and active. I recommend you to see a nutritionist and he can give you one on one guidance, and let you know where you are going wrong and give you guidance to stay on the right path. good luck

i read that you gain almost all the weight you lost due to the fact that the diet is merely a loss of body water and muscle with minimal loss in fat

As with most diets you will gain the weight back. that's why dieting is such a big business. First off eat right and live well.

With the lemon cleanse weight loss comes from muscle loss, water and fat loss. It depends on how much you exercise during the time you are cleansing which is which. The water loss should not be a goal since you actually need to hydrate yourself well. And measuring weight loss based on water loss is stupid because it's short term and not safe (think hours, not days).

You should loose some weight during the fast, and you stand a chance to keep it off longer due the the fact that the cleanse allows you to get more in touch with your body and how it functions. So after you stop you can appreciate what you are putting it in. Remember there is no magic solution to weight loss out there except eating healthy and exercising so you might want to start with that.

If you do decide to try the lemon cleanse, then learn about it, get a a plan and follow it. Don't try and modify to fit your thinking.

Master Cleanse-Weight loss slow?

Posted by: admin | Comments (3)

I've been on the master cleanse for about 7 days now, and during the first 4 days I managed to drop 6 pounds, but for the past few days the scale hasn't budged. I was wondering if maybe I'm doing something wrong? Or is this normal? It's just a little discouraging, since I'm working so hard at it. Any input is appreciated!

The master cleanse diet is replacing food with liquid. When you started the diet no doubt you ate the day before, the rapid loss is likely this food passing. After a few days, even though you are taking in some vitamins, minerals and calories your body considers this starvation and takes appropriate measures to slow the weight loss.

I would like to lose weight, even water weight uickly. Do you know anyone who had tried the lemonade or "master cleanse" detox/diet?

It isn't that effective and the weight you do lose will be put right back.

Just eat three balanced meals adding up to your target calories per day. good luck!!

Master Cleanse Weight Loss?

Posted by: admin | Comments (3)

Using the Master Cleanse Diet, where does it seem like the weight is lost from? The face, stomach, legs?

The weight is lost everywhere that you are fat. See site below about it with quotes from 17 MDs.

they are both very effective cardo machines. but in my opion i would go with the elliptical machine because it gives you an all body and lower body work out and a good sweat.

Or are they purely used to cleanse and weight loss doesn’t really happen at all?

Going into the Master Cleanse with the mentality of loosing weight is your first mistake. Although verified to have some weight loss effects, the Master Cleanse is to be viewed as a way of eliminating toxins and stored refuse from your body. To solely go into this as a weight loss concept, would be a loosing battle for anyone to undertake. You need the have the drive and desire to become ‘healthy’ and ready to handle the effects a liquid ‘fast’ can put you through. Do your research first on this before undertaking such a mentally and physically enduring process. It’s well worth it in the end if done for the right reasons.
