Archive for Weight Loss Mastered

If I do this for a few days and then follow up with a healthy diet and exercise, will the master cleanse help or hurt my weight? (20 pounds is the goal in the long run which should take about 7 weeks).

You are really just looking at a painful and drawn out way to empty your entire digestive tract.
The lemon detox/master cleanse diet you are referring to is a calorie deficit program.
You will lose weight on this diet whether you are attempting weight loss or just trying to "cleanse". The average adult has eight meals in their digestive system. Five more than they should. By going on a deficit diet like this you can lose up to 10 pounds just by not eating. But it is only the weight of the food in your digestive system. Plus the weight of the lost glycogen stores, excess sodium and associated water. This can add up to 15-20 lbs depending on your build. So it does work but it does not change your size. Pour the soda out of a bottle and the shape of the bottle doesn’t change does it? Once you start eating again you just replace all the missing food in the system.
The signal these starvation diets send the body is that there is no more food available. The body immediately stores any fat it can and begins to convert muscle and even organ tissue first for fuel instead of the stored fat. Stored fat will be used as a last resort when needed. The complete opposite of what you are trying to accomplish. And sadly metabolism actually drops.
There is no build up of bad plaque, toxins, or sludge in a normal, reasonably healthy system.
If this was the case we would have people dying left and right from malnutrition since their small intestines couldn’t absorb nutrients.
The majority of the water from food and what we drink is reabsorbed through the colon, if our colons were clogged we would all be walking around looking like sponges right?
Detoxing is ridding the system - liver, kidneys, and intestines of toxins both internal and environmental. Our liver and kidneys aren’t clogged with toxins. Otherwise we would be dead. The liver does in fact get layered with fat if we become overweight.
We "cleanse and detox" naturally 24 hours a day through respiration, sweat, liver, and kidneys.
We can help by eating a healthy diet with minimal added sugar and salt. Lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grain foods, beans, peas, and brown rice keep a system as healthy as it can be.
Minimal alcohol, caffeine, soda.
Read food labels. If you can’t pronounce it, don’t put it in your body.
A healthy high fiber diet works every time.
Increases the speed and efficiency of the digestive system and helps the body rid itself of both internal and environmental toxins.
Cleanses actually flush out the beneficial bacteria and enzymes in the digestive system.
Search "gut flora" to learn about the beneficial bacteria we need in our colon.
We have more beneficial bacteria in our digestive systems than all the cells in our bodies!
Did you know the digestive system is one of the largest contributors to our immune system?
They don’t tell you about the gas, cramping, and bloating you will experience when you start eating again and the body has to rebuild this bacteria population.
Spend your money in the produce department.
Good luck.

I am in a dilemma. I am working at a good but stressful job in a call center. I could work 50+ hours a week with varying hours and become a supervisor and make $45,000 a year in 2 or 3 years. Or I could use that extra time to speed up finishing my getting a second bachelor’s and a masters degree. All while getting sleep so I can exercise more often to help my weight loss (losing 100+ lbs). One side seems like I’d have a good job, but the other route I’d have more education, and be thinner and happier. The problem is they aren’t mutually exclusive and I’ll still lose weight eventually either way. But I don’t want to be trapped. I dunno blah any advice?

Definitely finish your degree!
Not only will you have the potential to make more money and get a better job in the future,
but you will lose weight faster and be happier sooner.
The call centre job will just tire you out and i’m sure you could be making better money than that in the future anyway.

I’m looking to lose weight, but even more so, i’m really looking to cleanse and detoxify my body. Dont worry, i know there are no "easy fixes" to weight loss, and will continue to work out at the gym durning my cleanse, i’m just looking for something that can give me a boost. I am also looking for a program that won’t just help me shed the weight short term, but help me keep it off long term. i read up on the master cleanse but you are expected to gain back half the weight lost when you quit the cleanse. any suggestions would be great.
I also don’t have much money, so i’m looking for something that doesn’t require expensive suppliments. I am not very disiplined with food (hence why i am over weight) but i’m trying to teach myself will power.
I’d like to know from people who have tried the cleanses first hand and know that they work before i waste my time.
I KNOW the rules to eat for losing weight. thats not what i’m looking for, i’m looking for a good cleanse that will help me lose weight and a plan that goes with it to help me keep it off.

You pretty much just answered your own question. Detoxifying is important. But the real kicker is your diet……or what you eat. I know you don’t want to hear that but it’s the truth. Hear is your answer. Make dieting fun. Learn to cook foods that are low in fat and freaking delicccch. My fav is Thai food. Another thing is keep your diet balanced. 70% carbs and 30% carbs. eat all your carbs in the morning and during the day it will burn off. Eat the last set of carbs, a smaller amount, during lunch. This will all burn off by bed time. The rest is protein and veggies and fruit. Fruit not to much because of it’s surgar content. Speed your metabloism up by eating 6 smaller meals a day. 3 main meals and 3 smaller snack type. And when you snack eat only protein type that is now in bad fat, don’t worry about good fat like unsalted nuts. Like, beef jerky, almonds and other unsalted nuts and seeds. Cut soda and processed surgar totally from your diet. Also cut high sodium from your diet. Like don’t chince and eat top ramon because it’s cheap. Don’t cheat and do your research. If you have a hard time staying diciplined it could be more psychological than physical. Go to psychology.com and research those issues as well. Be honest with yourself. You will succeed.

Visible weight loss on Master Cleanse?

Posted by: admin | Comments (2)

Hi, this may sound like a dumb question, but is the extra weight you lose on Master Cleanse visible? I know it’s a detox program, not a diet, and the pounds you lose are mostly "toxic" stuff, not fat. That being said, is weight loss visible, or is just a decreased number on the scale? Thanks!

I believe it is different for everyone. For me when I did a cleanse (I used a product to help) the weight loss was visible within two weeks.

Clothes were lose, people were commenting.
I’ve been using the product about two months and continue to love it and get healthier every day!

I hate having to ask this question considering this is something I at one point had mastered. I am a really big guy and always have been; big arms, shoulders, legs, the whole package loaded with definition. I however do have a decent sized gut I really don’t appreciate. (imagine an nfl lineman build) I decided this summer I’d get it all off.. I started off at 280, and got down to 270 in less than a week with no more than a change in diet. (obviously a lot of excess water weight) It’s been about a week and a half since and I have noticed no further change. I added a lot of cardio once I hit 270 so thats not the problem. I guess my question is did I peak? I still have about 20-30 lbs to lose before I am completely fit. I just don’t understand it. I eat about as much as an average human being would.. (Should I eat even less?) Is my body still adjusting to the change? As an ex All-American heavy weight wrestler, I am stumped :/… I once again appreciate any help
PS, any inputs on fat burners? Effective?

Take all sugar out of your diet as your body burns it before it burns any stored fat. Also, limit carbohydrates as our bodies convert them to sugar. Eat plenty of vegetables and high quality protein, plus exercise daily. A 30 minute fast walk a day is the minimum you should get. Our bodies have to burn 3500 calories in order to lose 1 pound.

QUICK weight loss question please!?

Posted by: admin | Comments (4)

Today I had a nutrigrain bar and a cup of coffee (2 tbs light cream and 2 splendas)
then I went to the gym burned 300 on the elliptical, 190 on the stair master, and about 200 doing weights

I came home and made myself a wrap (3 ounces of grilled chicken, mushrooms, onions, peppers, tomatoes, on a whole wheat tortilla with 2 tbs hummus) and a glass of milk

At 3 oclock I’m planning on having a rice cake and bag of apple slices

then at 6:30 I’m going to a Zumba class where I will burn 500-700 calories

and after I will have a salad

I also drink about 4-7 water bottles a day

If I did this 4-5 times a week would if be ideal for weightloss?

I advise you to drink green tea 1-3 glasses per day
green tea speeds up your metabolism
drink lots and lots of water 8 glasses each day.
do not snack
do not drink soda
go on the half off diet only eat half of what you would usually eat and give or throw the rest away
if you are really hungry and you’ve had all your daily meals snack on fruits ( oranges, apples, bananas )

i am currently attending one of those medi weight loss clinic i am on the 500 calorie of protein a day with a cup of veggies i have lost 17 pounds in 3 weeks. i need to loose some more weight fast by the 28th of this month, i was wondering if i do the master cleanse diet if i could loose some more weight fast i am currently 189. can i loose like 20 pounds if i start the master cleanse diet. will it be water weight even tho i already lost most of it my first week at the weight loss clinic. i will like to leave the medi weight loss clinic as soon as possible because they are so expensive…help i will like to at least get down to a 165 so i can start to maintain my weight and eat healthy.

I think the diet that the medi clinic have you on is far safer than the master cleanse. The diet you are on still supplies you with the protein that your body need to grow and repair itself, where as the master cleanse only provides you with limited amounts of minerals. It’s more or less a starvation diet. Could you not stick to the foods that they feed you at the medi clinic and just eat them at home? Also, aren’t there doctors/nutritionists at the clinic that will advise you on how to continue your weight loss at home? If not you could see your regular doctor and ask them for help.

You need more food. You got off to a good start with the wrap. You need about three meals like that. Good food like that won’t make you fat unless you eat twenty wraps a day and sit on the couch all day.

Also, cut out the splenda. It is worse for you than normal sugar.

After I had my daughter I was loosing quite a bit and looking good. Then I started not watching what I ate & started gaining and gaining. Mostly in my stomach, its still really flab (also had c-section) and my face.

I’m thinking to start walking/jogging/running for about 30 minutes a day, 50 regular crunches, side crunches, 50 leg lifts each, and the thigh master do it 50 times for the legs, and work with it on my arms. I’m going to cut out all soda, and not eat after 7 o’clock. But I am going to eat my normal dinner with my husband around 5-6 p.m.

Do you think I will see weight loss with this? I’m getting very depressed I lost my body. I atleast need to lose 20 pounds but I want to lose more but twenty would be amazing!

Is there any tips, or help! Because I deff. need it. Also when do you think I would start loosing the weight after exercising? I know it takes a little while but I want to be able to get into a bathing suit! Which I doubt I will be able. But thanks (:

if you can start pumping this will pull weight off like crazy. Feed your baby and save a lot of money. It is brain food for the baby and endless benefits of breast feeding. Helps the girl region recover as well. Muscles tighten and he is excited.
As for Weight loss it comes from bowels working and well. Here is the best info I have and it works. Has helped a few hundred people so far.
After spine surgery I gained 60 plus lbs. From family being nice and giving me all the things I wanted. From the surgery I could not exercise and walking was a chore. So with spine damage and no chance at exercise I remembered what my high school coach told me.
“It calorie in and calorie burned” The way to burn weight is burn more than you take in. If you do this you will loose weight. So I counted calories and I nearly starved.
I started reading the diets out there. Atkins and south beach. Tried Atkins and lost weight. After loosing several lbs I shared the diet with friends and it worked for them as well. One fellow went from size 48 to 38 pants, stopped taking BP medication and stopped taking diabetes medication. Ate eggs and bacon for breakfast and life was good. I just had trouble holding to the diet. In time I gained the weight back. After the yo-yo dieting and radical eating soups and such, I started to do the common sense diet.
I found something that works and I plan to write a book on it. In the mean time I am will to share this much. The more your bowels work the better you will feel. Turn your diet into a high fiber diet and the more you eat the more you will loose. I find that “Total” raisin Bran will speed your digestion. So eat two or three bowel per day. Salads of fresh veggies will help as well. Yes, use dressing of some type and you need fats. Whole milk, (have documentation to prove it). And Metamucil in the mornin and after noon will help clean your bowels and keep you going. In time you will be able ot eat most any thing you like (as long as it makes you poop) and eat all you like. Things like steak with fat and good cuts of meat. Stay away from burgers and processed foods. Chicken meat and good cuts of pork are OK.
If you snack at night eat the Raisin bran and it will move you in the morning. No white bread, high grain breads are OK.
You need to eat 5 or 6 times per day. From early morning on. Eat small meals and in the am add fresh fruits.
I promise you will loose weight and in time start feeling much better. I have given this info to many people and all have lost weight,. None have had medical problems from it.

I wish you the best.

Not in pill form or the master cleanse

A good healthy diet high in fiber, lean meats, eggs, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, antioxidant foods, healthy beverages and low in added sugar and salt help people lose weight, gain weight, lower cholesterol, increase energy, improve brain function, lower blood pressure, reduce cancer risk and have a more positive lifestyle!
You need to eat a lot more food and a lot more fiber!
Diets that exclude foods from any food group are fad diets and do not lead to permanent weight loss or solve any other health issues.
First, try to kick your fiber intake to 40 grams of both soluble and insoluble fiber.
Whatever you do, get your fiber from your food, not from a jar.
Fruits and vegetables have good fiber in them.
Try a breakfast cereal with at least 20% of recommended daily allowance of fiber in it. They are usually low in sugar so there is a double benefit. Blueberries or raspberries on top add more fiber and antioxidants. But fresh or frozen, not the kind in syrup.
Raw nuts are a great source of fiber, healthy fats, and antioxidants. Avocados are the best.
Lots of beans, peas, and grains are high fiber. Whole grain breads. Fiber kicks up the metabolism so you actually burn more calories. These foods will give you more gas in the beginning but if eaten daily, the bacteria in the digestive tract will elevate lowering the gas output.
This will get you on the path for a healthy daily bowel movement. This helps clean the system and aids healthy digestion.
I know it goes against everything you’ve heard but eating lots of the right foods will actually help you lose weight!
Next, take a basic daily multivitamin. Don’t look at your multivitamin as nutrition but more as an insurance policy. Think of it as filling in the gaps in your daily diet as opposed to a primary source of nutrients. If you are a woman, you may want a plus iron formula.
Last, you HAVE to drink lots of water to be healthy. But you can disguise it. Fill your glass all the way full with ice before pouring low sugar beverages. Try iced green tea with a splash of orange juice in it for sweet. More antioxidants. Add lemon juice to water for flavor. Slice up a cucumber and float it in pitcher of water. Gives it salty fresh taste. But you must drink up to 100 oz of water daily to help your body get rid of waste and the toxins it contains.
You must combine a healthy diet with exercise to multiply the benefit. Whether an hour a day in the weight room or just a 30 minute brisk walk every day, the added benefit of a regular exercise program really do increase and accelerate healthy weight loss.
You will get motivated when the changes start happening, I promise.
Good luck.
