Hey i plan on losing weight, which is not the problem for me. I just read that it’s healthy to lose only up to 1kg per week! That seems very slow as i want to lose about 15kg, and don’t really want to wait so long. So what is too rapid that it causes problems? If i go 2kg per week, is it ok? What problems could i get at 2kg/week?
me also.i was 83kg six weeks ago until i go to the gym and go six days per week until now.now in six weeks,i lost 6 kg and nearly 13pounds.i burned around 13000 calories in total to date.i did track my effort and found out i have to lose around 3700calories for 1kg and 1800calories for 0.5kg.i did diet by cutting down rice intake which i did not eat rice anymore yet still consume mee in the morning.i eat cereal bread, biscuit and oat cereal, and still eat vegetable and little meat.
yes…its best to lose 1kg per week.maximum u should burn 3700 calories…
its not that easy to burn them as u think and reduce so fast.i try to burn 5400 calories per week,it means 900calories per day.it is a lot for a day..
imagine u did it everyday and last for a month, its actually very tiring…
i dont know what would be the problem..but is diificult to achieve that number…
ibelieve u have not start exercise to lose weight, that is why u dont know the pain and rules..
believe it takes few months

I was wanting to go on a fasting diet but i don’t no how. I thought it might be a good way to lose weight if i only eat like one time a day. I want to lose weight fast because i think my weight is making me depressed. I lost 20 pounds over the summer but now that its fall/winter again i’m afraid to gain it all back and i would still like to lose more. I’m not skinny at all. I am about 190 pounds and just want to lose it. Thank you.
Dont go on a fasting diet. It may not be the best method. It can wreck your metabolism.
here’s what you can do
1. Based on your age, figure out your Basic Metabolic Rate- you can do this easily online.
2. Your goal must be to aim for 500-750 (not more) calorie deficit each day through a combination of a good healthy diet and exercise
3. Eat your breakfast. Research shows that breakfast eaters lose more weight than those who do not.
4. Eat 4 -5 meals spaced out at intervals of 3-4 hours each day. This keeps your metabolism chugging well throughout the day.
5. Once every week, do a high calorie or a high carb day. Give into your cravings, have that pizza slice. just to give your body a break from the dieting and help you to stay on the wagon.
6. Exercise is must, if you want to keep the weight off and not just be subject to the yo yo diet syndrome. Cardio and Weight training - both forms of exercise must be included.
Again here, dont overdo the diet and skip the exercise. Our bodies are very smart. If they dont get enough food- presuming you go on a very low cal diet, our body tends to think that we are starving. Our metabolism goes down, the body then trys to hang on for dear life to the fat in our body. The exact opposite of what we aim for.
So eat well. Exercise well. Stay committed and you will melt that fat away.
Cheers!

I am bulimic, and I can’t take it anymore. I want to change. I
don’t no what its like to "be healthy" because of this. What is
a good diet for healthy living? Can you give me meal plans/
ideas of healthy options for all meals. To stay healthy and
maintain a healthy weight, how much exercise is good per
week, and how long each day? How many calories should i
eat each day?
I just turned 15
Im 5ft
I weigh 105lbs.
Please help! and Thanks!
Here is an exercise plan as well as some info about how to eat correctly. There are also side links to sample meal plans and other good information. I have used a very similar system to maintain less than 5% body fat for the past 23 years. It is not because of my genetics because obesity runs in my family.

I’ve been on the Acai berry diet pill for around 5 days now. I’m just wondering how long it takes till you begin to lose weight or see results? Anybody whose started these pills or experienced with them maybe you can help me answer this question?
I would just like to know from Personal experience. Nothing from internet pages please. thank you
If you are really looking to lose weight, Acai probably isn’t enough just by itself.
It’s a very healthy food, high in vitamins and anti-oxidants, but those won’t really result in weight loss.
I suggest doing what this mom did and combining the Acai diet with a cleansing program.

I want to lose about 30-40lbs but I don’t want to do a restricting diet only to gain the weight back as soon as I reach my goal weight and stop dieting. Right now I eat between 1700-2100 calories per day and I use the elliptical machine for 35 minutes daily. For fluid intake, I am only drinking water. Can I still lose weight this way?
Try the Baby Jack workout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezris

Hi. I am a 52 yr old female and I would like to lose weight. I can’t afford to join one of the weight loss programs like Weight Watchers. Can anyone offer any advice? I know I need to exercise etc. In the past I counted calories, but now that I live in Au. I’m not sure how many kilojules I need. Please only serious replies only. Thanks in advance!
To answer your question directly:
The number of kilojoules needed daily varies with gender, body size and physical activity. Being more active and having a larger body size increases daily kilojoule needs, while older people tend to need less. The average woman needs about 9000kJ a day, and 6000-8000kJ to lose weight.
^ - ^’
I do hope this helps

OK, so I have read all of the answers saying how it is not "good" to try and lose weight through a fad diet, but guess what.. I don’t care. I have put on a ton of weight while my husband deployed to Iraq and I AM going to try a fad diet to jumpstart my weightloss.
What have YOU tried that worked? Master Cleanse? Tuna Diet? Cabbage soup diet?
I know how you feel. I’ve tried a lot of things. but this is what works for me (i lost 4 pounds in a week and i didn’t starve myself):
- drink lots of water, keeps you fuller.
- to lower your appetite, add in a lot of incidental exercise. during that week i was walking around a lot to get to places. not only was i burning calories and making my metabolism work, i was also distracting myself from food.
- eat light dinners, but remember to eat in small portions. e.g. you MUST eat breakfast (something healthy klike cereal) breakfast kickstarts your metablism, then about 2 hours later, say about 10am, have a light healthy meal that can be consumed in about 3 or 4 bites (like a very small portion of fried rice, then at 12am if ur hungry, eat the same amount, then 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, etc. split your dinner up during those times.
thing is, i started doing that for about 3 days, after 3 days my weight started to drop suddenly and the weird thing was, i had begun to eat a little more, yet the weight just continued to drop.
im still eating extremely healthy and pretty much the same amount i used ot before weight loss, yet im loosing the weight!
good luck!
