How fast can you lose weight without it being unhealthy?
Posted by: | CommentsThis winter break, I am planning on making a strong effort to lose weight. For all who are wondering, the break will be 6 weeks long.
Here is what I am planning to do:
-Eat a very reasonable diet.
-Take protein supplements.
-Drink lots of water.
-Ride my bike for an hour or two a day.
-Go to the gym Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and do some anaerobic exercise to build lean muscle.
Would this be unhealthy? I have a feeling I will lose weight rather quickly, but a friend told me that losing weight fast is almost as unhealthy as being overweight in the first place. Is my plan unreasonable?
Thoughts?
Start doing that before the break, start out slow, it will take a while for your body to get accustomed to all the changes. Starving yourself is just as bad as burning off all the calories you ate that day, just make sure you get 1200 calories a day, and ride your bike for an hour maybe, two seems a bit extreme for now, especially if you’re coming out of an inactive lifestyle. Your friend is right, just don’t go overboard with the exercising. If your body goes into starvation mode you could easily gain all the weight back as fast as you lost it. Good luck!
Weight Loss?
Posted by: | CommentsI’m trying to lose weight, but I need some advice. I want to lose 30 pounds and this is my plan. Mornings I will either eat oatmeal or drink a protein shake, lunch I’ll have a salad, and dinner I will have something like brown rice with fish or chicken. I plan to use the treadmill 4-5 times a week and everyday I will do the stationary bike for an hour. I will also incorporate ab exercises, weight training, and body sculpting. I will drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. However, my question is that is there some sort of diet that will kick start my plan by allowing me to lose a few easy pounds, like a cereal diet, master cleanse, detox diet. Any other advice would be helpful also. Also, what is better to walk uphill on the treadmill for an hour or run? How quickly can I see results, please help thanks.
I would say you have a good plan in place. Remember that if you make it too strict it will be impossible to follow. Overall you should take in 60-80 grams of protein per day and 125 grams of ‘good carbs’ per day. Watch those extra add ons like condiments. Your exercise routine is very stringent. The cardio will burn off the calories, but remember if you want to maintain the weight loss you will need to build some muscle. More muscle will burn more calories. The best quick start I have seen is no carbs for 10-14 days. Only eat protein, then ease back onto good carbs. This will give you a good starting point.
Can a healthy diet lower your immunities or immune system?
Posted by: | CommentsAround november of last year, i switched over from a disgusting junk food thriving, soda drinking, chain smoking living habit to a cleaner more exercise and healthy eating habit. Before i switched, i got sick maybe once a year. Ever since i changed things, I’ve caught several colds, and a very mild case of strep. Basically what i’m asking is can a healthier diet put you at risk for sickness or common viruses?
First check out what is your blood group and what diet is good for your health .
